Bayfield Heritage Association Presents: Pureair Sanitorium – Feb 16

For decades Bayfield’s Pureair Sanatorium was a beautiful lakeside refuge from a deadly disease. The San, as it was more popularly known, is long gone, though recycled pieces can be found scattered throughout the community. More importantly, its story remains.

In our next John Matthew Black presentation, Dennis McCann will explain the world events that led to construction of a tuberculosis hospital on Lake Superior’s shore as well as what life there was like for patients, staff, and community groups.
