For our February Science on Tap presentation, join Eric Faber, digital navigator with the Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, for his talk, Understanding AI: Demystifying the Modern “Magic” Machines.

Artificial Intelligence has been dominating all of our websites, apps, and news feeds recently and, as it continues to become a part of our daily lives, it’s important to understand how the technology works, separate the hype from the facts, and explore the safe, practical uses of these new tools. In this talk, we will explore the basics of what “AI” actually is, the impacts of its rapid growth and implementation, and the real life uses and limitations of Large Language Models like Chat GPT, Gemini, Claude, and more.

Eric Faber, the Bayfield County Digital Navigator with the Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board (NWWIB), is passionate about helping every individual understand the technology around them in the increasingly digital world in which we live. You can visit Eric for personal help during his daily CLICK & Learn hours at the libraries in Bayfield County, or meet his counterparts Jake & Ethan at libraries in the surrounding counties.
