Promotional image for the “Geology of Waterfalls: Lake Superior Region” event showing a scenic waterfall surrounded by forest on the left, and event details on the right. The event takes place Sunday, August 17 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Ashland, WI, and is a $68 fundraiser for Landmark Conservancy. Logos for Landmark Conservancy and Land Trust Days are included.

The Lake Superior basin is home to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the state. Meet at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center in Ashland then caravan to visit four waterfalls: Copper Falls, Potato River Falls, Saxon Falls, and Superior Falls.

Enjoy picturesque views and learn about the geologic history that is responsible for their creation from geologist Tom Fitz. While at Copper Falls State Park, we will take a short hike along the Tyler Forks River to highlight the trail system that connects to the adjacent 590-acre Tyler Forks Community Forest.

$68: This is a fundraiser for Landmark Conservancy.
