Authors Pam Houston & Deborah Jackson Taffa at Honest Dog Books

Join us for an intimate evening with badass writers Pam Houston and Deborah Jackson Taffa as they talk about their latest books, Without Exception (Houston) and Whiskey Tender (Jackson Taffa). A member of the Quechan and Laguna Pueblo tribes, Whiskey Tender details her life, growing up with a Native American father and a Catholic Latin-American mother. Whiskey Tender was a 2024 National Book Award Finalist and on the New York Times list of best nonfiction reads of 2024.

Houston is the author of the memoir Deep Creek: Finding Hope In The High Country, as well as two novels, Contents May Have Shifted and Sight Hound, two collections of short stories, Cowboys Are My Weakness and Waltzing the Cat, and a collection of essays, A Little More About Me. Her most recent book, Without Exception: Reclaiming Abortion, Personhood and Freedom, is her call to action.
