We welcome you to come as you are — newbie/advanced\, introvert/extrovert\, grumpy/happy\, tired/energized\, neurodivergent/typical\, talkative/quiet. \n\n\n\nWe’ll provide examples\, gentle guidance\, and a few supplies to get you started. We encourage you to bring materials from home to use or share for the day at the community resources table! \n\n\n\nSuggested items include:Thick needleEmbroidery threadJournal paperScrapbooking paperColorful cardboardArtful magazinesOld booksGlue sticksScissors \n\n\n\nWhat to expect during this casual community art hangout: 4pm—5pm: Early Bird Community Set-up!Feel free to arrive at your convenience. It gives you a way to hold what’s hard and make space for processing difficult times. \n\n\n\nThere’s something quietly powerful about taking time to be creative when life feels uncertain. Art doesn’t demand answers. It just invites us to to show up\, be honest\, explore\, and maybe… find a bit of light in the mess of it all. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a Service Berry Skillshare! \n\n\n\n—————— \n\n\n\nDitch your to-do list.Shake off perfectionism. And create for the sake of creating. No rules. We rehearse 2-3 times in the “wood-lands” between Iron-wood and Ash-land before performing at Pride events and festivals in these two towns. We have built a beautiful community of singers in our 3 years of existence\, supporting each other and building meaningful connections. We welcome people of all ages\, with any vocal range or ability. Participants do not need to identify as queer to participate; allies are welcome as well. The choir is directed by Vincent Schueren and accompanied by Sean VanZeeland.

SUMMARY:Artful Clothing Restoration | Community Art Hangout
DESCRIPTION:Join neighbors for a slow evening of skill sharing and creative exploration! We will attempt to play with artful clothing restoration\, sewing\, mending\, slow stitch\, darning\, and wool felting. Bring skills\, supplies & tools if you have them to share. OR bring *any* creative project you’re working on and come hang out! \n\n\n\nWhen you gather to create art\, you’re doing something powerful. You’re reclaiming your attention in a world full of distraction. You’re creating when everything around us says to consume instead. \n\n\n\nMeet with us in the lower level of the Bayfield Carnegie Library from 4pm-8pm! \n\n\n\nYou are welcome here. \n\n\n\nSuggested items include:Old clothes to mendThread + needlesStitching threadFelting materialsFabricButtonsSewing machine \n\n\n\nWhat to expect during this casual community art hangout: 4pm—5pm: Early Bird Community Set-up!Feel free to arrive at your convenience. We’ll be putting out supplies\, setting up tables\, and art’ing together as people show up. 5pm-7:30pm: Casual Art HangoutLet the creativity begin! We’ll officially start the art hangout at 5am. Connect with others (or enjoy creative solitude) as you work. 7:30-8pm: Community Clean-up!Return supplies and pick up your personal space. If your schedule and physical ability permit\, volunteer to help put away tables\, chairs\, and community supplies! \n\n\n\nTaking time from your busy schedule to create art is *NOT* selfish. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a Service Berry Skillshare on Thursday\, May 14th! \n\n\n\n—————— \n\n\n\nDitch your to-do list.Shake off perfectionism. And create for the sake of creating. No rules. SUMMARY:Build a Bluebird Nest Box @ Copper Falls State Park
DESCRIPTION:Families\, nature enthusiasts\, and aspiring backyard conservationists are invited to take part in a hands-on spring activity at Copper Falls State Park. The Friends of Copper Falls State Park will host a “Build a Bluebird Nest Box” workshop on Saturday\, May 2\, 2026\, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the park’s historic log pavilion. \n\n\n\nThis engaging program offers participants the opportunity to construct a cedar nesting box designed specifically for bluebirds—one they can take home and install to help support local bird populations. Each participant will also receive a steel pole for mounting their completed box\, making it easy to create a safe and suitable habitat for these iconic songbirds. \n\n\n\nAll materials and tools will be provided\, and the event is open to all ages. Young children are welcome when accompanied by an adult\, making this a perfect family-friendly activity that blends learning\, creativity\, and conservation. \n\n\n\nDonations are appreciated to help offset the cost of materials\, with a suggested contribution of $10 or the purchase of a membership in the Friends of Copper Falls State Park. \n\n\n\nBluebirds\, once in decline due to habitat loss\, have made a remarkable comeback thanks in part to nesting box programs like this one. By participating\, attendees not only gain a meaningful outdoor experience but also contribute to ongoing conservation efforts that support native wildlife. \n\n\n\nThe event is sponsored by the Friends of Copper Falls State Park. A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker is required for entry into the park. \n\n\n\nVisitors are encouraged to make a day of their trip—exploring the park’s scenic waterfalls\, hiking trails\, and spring wildflowers before or after the program.
